Update -
Both Frontier circuits connecting to the Santa Barbara City College Wake Center have remained stable since 13:20 PST. Frontier has identified a higher-level circuit problem, but techs were able to get the failed hardware working again to restore service. They're planning to replace the hardware during a maintenance window (0000-0600) once a new part is located. We will provide additional updates when we have more information.

Frontier is working to replace a higher level transport card once it arrives on site. We will provide additional updates when we have more information.

Information Technology has identified technical issues with our network that is preventing users from accessing parts of SBCC's website, the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and remote access via our Virtual Private Network (VPN). Investigating -
Yesterday SCE replaced the power pole outside of the Wake Campus which took the power down for the entire facility. Today there are connectivity issues at Wake as a result. We are currently troubleshooting issues with wifi, internet, and other network connectivity.

Southern California Edison needs to replace a power pole at the entrance to the Wake Campus on Turnpike Rd. This pole is where Edison feeds power to the Wake Campus, and it also is the point of entry for the internet connection at that campus. SCE crews will be performing the replacement on February 2, 2025, from 7am to 5pm. All power will be off at the Wake Campus and all network resources at that campus will be offline during the maintenance window.
